Tropical Storm Isaias Update
As of Sunday, August 2, 2020, at 2:00 p.m.

Due to the current track of Tropical Storm Isaias, FLETC will suspend training on Monday, August 3, 2020, at the Glynco and Charleston training delivery points (TDP), with training expected to resume on Tuesday, August 4, 2020. All training scheduled for Monday (August 3) will occur on Tuesday (August 4) at Glynco and Charleston, with all scheduled training moving forward one day. We will conduct training on Sunday, August 9, to catch up from Monday’s missed training day.

We will continue monitoring the track of the storm, and will provide additional information about operations at FLETC-Cheltenham as our emergency operations planning dictates.

The FLETC-Glynco and FLETC-Charleston campuses will be accessible on August 3 only for personnel essential for critical operations during a weather emergency. Employees at these TDPs who have their necessary equipment should telework:

    1. If there is a telework agreement in place;
    2. If there is connectivity at the alternate worksite with equipment commensurate with work needs; and
    3. If the work to be accomplished was previously determined as telework eligible work.

All other Glynco or Charleston employees who are not on approved annual or sick leave will be granted administrative leave (administrative excusal for weather conditions) for August 3, 2020.

FLETC will use the Emergency Notification System (ENS) to provide emergency information regarding the storm.

FLETC’s Office of Emergency Management and Continuity will continue to monitor the storm and we will provide updates, as needed, on FLETC’s internal and external platforms, and the FLETC 1-800 number (see list below).  Please check back frequently to ensure you have the latest information.

Stay tuned to your local media for additional storm updates.
