Update: Hurricane Dorian Aug. 30

Hurricane Dorian Update

As of Friday, at 9 a.m.

The Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) continues to monitor Hurricane Dorian’s path for impacts to its Glynco, Georgia; Charleston, South Carolina; and Team Orlando sites. FLETC communicates regularly with the National Hurricane Center and local Emergency Management Agencies to have the most current information to make operational decisions.

Currently, Hurricane Dorian has strengthen to a Category 2, with potential to increase intensity before landfall. Even coastal areas without a direct hit, may experience tropical storm force winds and local flooding.

FLETC and participating organization staff in the impacted areas should prepare their homes and work site for hazardous conditions lasting a couple days beginning early next week.

FLETC will use Emergency Notification System (ENS) to provide emergency information regarding the storm.  Please make sure your information in the ENS is current, if not please have your Directorate’s ENS administrator update.

We will continue to monitor and provide updates, as needed, on the internet, social media, the FLETC mobile app, and the FLETC 1-800 number (see list below).  Please check back frequently to ensure you have the latest information.

Stay tuned to your local TV stations and radios for additional storm updates.
