Florence Update Sept. 12, 2018, at 2:20 p.m.

For Immediate Release

FLETC Leaders met at 11:30 a.m. to review the Hurricane Response plan and ensure all roles and responsibilities are being addressed at FLETC-Glynco in the event the storm track shifts.

I appreciate the proactive approach FLETC-Charleston and our Partner Organizations located there have taken to ensure all students, staff and contractors were able to care for the needs of their families and heed the evacuation orders from the Governor of South Carolina.

News outlets are currently reporting the Governor of Georgia has issued a state of emergency.  At this time, the state of emergency is applicable to only commercial vehicular traffic through the state of Georgia (see attached Executive Order).  Later today, FLETC personnel will be attending a meeting with Glynn County Emergency Officials and I will be holding a Partner Organization meeting to share any/all information that I have received.

I will provide staff updates at regular intervals each day to ensure information is made available to all of you as I receive it.  Please look updates via FLETC means of communication to include: email, FLETC.gov, Employee News on FLETC Connect, social media, and the FLETC app.
