FLETC Director Thomas J. Walters hosted a national training executive forum among its 118 Partner Organizations (POs). The annual FLETC - Partner Organization Training Executives Forum (POTEF) met on April 21, 2022, at the Glynco training delivery point. The POTEF forum brings together law enforcement executives from FLETC’s Participating Organizations across all three branches of the Government. Senior officials from the Departments of Defense, Homeland Security, Interior, Justice, Treasury, and State met in person to discuss critical issues in federal law enforcement training and the contemporary environment.
FLETC executives provided insight into its operations and processes most impacting the POs and their respective agency students, such as training in a COVID-19 environment, projections and schedules, funding processes, training venues, and updates on emerging and critical training initiatives. Attendees also discussed and collaborated on national topics of interest including Use of Force policy, virtual distributive learning, accreditation and training standards, and the DHS Law Enforcement Coordination Council and congruent efforts across other U.S. Government departments and agencies. The POTEF concluded with a windshield tour of FLETC facilities and ongoing construction projects.
FLETC is planning for the next POTEF, to continue building on the success gained at these recurring meetings.
