The Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers’ (FLETC) Glynco, Georgia, training site hosted a birthday celebration in honor of FLETC’s 48th anniversary July 10, 2018. The event, sponsored by the FLETC Recreation Association, provided music, food, and fun. More than 350 FLETC and partner organization staff attended the lunch hour festivities.
Since its inception as the Consolidated Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (CFLETC) in 1970, the renamed organization has trained over one million law enforcement officers and agents. This is a huge achievement for a small component of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Director Thomas J. Walters expressed his gratitude to the crowd, “Together - with the many other thousands of DHS employees - all of you are making an incredible difference in devoting your talent and energy to the fulfillment of the mission.”
