Description
The Electronic Navigation Training Program (ENTP) introduces the student to the principles of electronic navigation. It describes the fundamentals used by vessel commanders or marine enforcement officers to utilize marine electronics to safely navigate during reduced visibility and in unfamiliar maritime areas of responsibilities. Students will become proficient with their agency specific electronics while determining position, direction and distance problems.
Prerequisites
- Applicant must be a law enforcement officer/agent with arrest authority in the prevention, detection, apprehension, detention and/or investigation of felony and/or misdemeanor violations of federal, state, local, tribal, or military criminal laws or public safety personnel and first responders with marine law enforcement duties or those designated Direct Law Enforcement Support Personnel (DLESP).
- Must be in good physical condition, capable of meeting established FLETC Practical Performance Requirements (PPRs) while enduring long periods of strenuous underway boat operations.
