Description
The Active Shooter Threat Instructor Training Program (ASTITP) provides the student with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to effectively train their personnel in active threat response tactics. The ASTITP focuses on single-officer response to active threat situations while providing tactical considerations for “linking up” with other responding LEO’s. The extremity hemorrhage control portion of this course enables students to address life-threatening bleeding injuries that may occur during an active threat situation. The curriculum uses lectures, demonstrations, labs, and practical evaluations to ensure understanding of the tactics required to respond to an active threat while mitigating personal risk and reducing hesitation. Scenario development, the use of FLETC’s Student-Centered Feedback Model, and student teach backs serve as instructor assessments.
